How we chose them
Chess and dominoes are games families can learn at the kitchen table. The ukulele and the guitar are good first instruments, and England’s national curriculum for music asks pupils at Key Stage 2 to “play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts, using their voices and playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression”.
Guitar today
Our beginner guitar site, Help Me Learn Guitar, is open now, with chord diagrams, practice plans and a metronome.
